JOPLIN – May 22, 2012 – Expats President Todd Greene and Central Park Fitness Founder Dave duCille rode their bicycles over 1,500 miles from New York City to Joplin, Missouri in just 20 days for Cycle for Joplin in its quest to raise money to donate to victims of Joplin tornado. The ride took place in the heart of tornado season, concluding on the one year anniversary of the May 22nd Joplin tornado. Joplimo Mattress pledged to donate 10% of gross sales over Memorial Day Weekend to support Cycle for Joplin in their mission, and presented them a check for $1,648. “Our mission is to be agents of change within our community, and we feel it is socially responsible for businesses to get involved and support good causes like this one”, said Brian Croft, owner of Joplimo Mattress. Joplimo Mattress Opens First Arkansas Store in Springdale

JOPLIN, MO – Joplimo Mattress held a ribbon cutting ceremony this morning. The new building is in the exact same location, at 17th and Rangeline, as the one that was destroyed in the May 22nd tornado. It also has the same square footage, however the new building has a new layout, more windows and an additional entrance. Store Manager Dirk Gerdis says that as a small locally owned business, Joplimo Mattress staff is grateful they were able to rebuild, and service the community again.
“It lets them know that the commitment that the business owners have made to the community,” Gerdis said. “We are here to support the community and offer our products to them and just be here for Joplin and the surrounding area,” he added.
Today several people were in attendance of the ribbon cutting. Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce members provided a green ribbon for this event. Green ribbons are used when businesses re-open, and red ribbons are used for first time businesses. The store will hold their official grand opening on Saturday, April 27th.
